Reflection

Finally, I thought

The reason I took Creative Writing

My chance to play with words

that detonate--sparking images and ideas feelings and impressions

Words that denote indisputable dictionary definitions

and others that connote cognitive accounts of individual interpretations

I explored Williams and Burroway,

haiku with pictures,

other students and myself.

I enjoyed spoken word and

perfect peer performances.

I wrote poems dense with

alliteration, allusion, imagery,

simile, metaphor, consonance

and substantial titles

that were hopefully intense experiences

making meaning, and evoking emotion

I carried that toolbox with me

shaping and sharpening every day

I slammed despite my nerves and

am very proud to have overcome

It is actually positively absolutely

more fun than I thought

My only regret--

Not enough time
